The MOBI department at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is at the forefront of innovative urban mobility research. As part of a PhD student's work, we developed a cutting-edge 3D model to gather and analyze citizen feedback on integrating autonomous shuttles into local neighborhoods.
This model produces a realistic digital replica of a neighborhood, allowing residents to visualise the potential impact of these shuttles. This visual approach revolutionises public engagement compared to traditional survey methods. It allows for more informed, spatially aware feedback from people.
Ultimately, the model helps urban planners understand local needs and concerns, making the implementation of autonomous shuttles smoother and more beneficial to the community. This work highlights VUB's dedication to building sustainable and citizen-centric transportation solutions.
